This product is an oral suspension fluid containing the anti-fungal agent Nystatin. It is used to treat fungal or yeast infections which affect the mouth (such as oral thrush) or the gastrointestinal tract, and does so by killing the organisms which cause these infections to occur.

These infections are often caused by the Candida species of fungi. Although the presence of Candida in the human body is natural and in many cases harmless, under certain environments these fungi can grow in number and this can lead to infection. Nystatin works by disrupting the cell membranes of these fungi, creating holes within the cell wall and causing the fungi to die.
