Noriday

Noriday is contraceptive pill produced by Pharmacia Ltd. It contains the ingredient norethisterone, a synthetic hormone. Norethisterone works in a similar way to the naturally occurring hormone progesterone. It works in the body to increase the density of vaginal fluid, thus making it more difficult for travelling sperm to reach an egg. Norethisterone also makes it harder for an egg to develop in the uterus by altering the endometrium (uterine lining).

This treatment has very specific application instructions which must be followed carefully. These particular tablets are designed to be taken every day throughout the menstrual cycle. As with any hormonal contraceptive, this product does not provide 100 per cent guaranteed protection against pregnancy. You should always consider using barrier contraceptives, such as condoms, as an additional precautionary measure.
