Femodene

Femodene is an oral contraceptive tablet. It contains two synthetic hormones, ethinylestradiol and gestodene, which are used to help prevent pregnancy. These agents work by mimicking the function of the naturally occurring hormones, progesterone and oestrogen. The treatment works in three ways: preventing the release of eggs from the ovary; altering uterus lining to make egg development more difficult; and thickening vaginal fluid to make it harder for sperm to travel inside the womb.

This product has very specific application instructions, and these should be followed very carefully. Like all contraceptive treatments, it is not 100 per cent guaranteed to prevent pregnancy.
