In the interests of safety, a doctor may choose not to prescribe this treatment to those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, are allergic to any containing ingredients, have a history of drug or alcohol dependence, or who have suffered from liver of kidney dysfunction, asthma, or a number of other conditions. It should not be taken by children under 12, or by anyone suffering from inflammatory bowel disease (such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s). To ensure that this medicine is safe for you to take, fully inform your prescriber of your medical history and of any other medications currently being taken.

Side effects include dizziness, constipation, dependence, anaphylaxis, angioedema, blood problems, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, pancreatitis, respiratory depression, irritation of the skin, withdrawal and difficulty breathing.
