Fungal Nail Infection

Fungal Nail Infection

Onychomycosis or fungal nail infection is a fungus created infection in nails.  Generally, the toenails are affected with fungus that makes them hard and brittle, thick, change color (yellow or white), change shape, and trap debris underneath.  The fungi behind this infection are housed in public areas such as gyms, swimming pools, and locker & shower rooms.  In addition, other risks that can lead to fungal nail infection are having sustained moisture on the skin, weakened immune system, and using contaminated nail salon utensils.
